Master’s Thesis



My master’s thesis revolves around neurons simulated with Fitzhugh-Nagumo (FHN) neuron model. Basically I’m starting from Andre Longtin’s work on simulating single neuron using FHN equations, with my work focusing on simulating systems (networks) of such neurons exchanging signals (voltage) with delay in signal transmission.


The whole simulation is written in Java, with some Groovy added for ease of scripting and control. There’s also some early Processing code for nice visualisation of data, although it’s not guaranteed it’ll make way into the final work.

Code will be opensourced after consultation with my advisor.
